I am originally from Steubenville, Ohio, and I grew up in a big, Italian/American family. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Dayton where I met my husband, Mark. He is originally from Rochester NY, and also from a big, Italian/American family! Another common thread between us and fun fact is that I am a triplet, and Mark is an identical twin. We are blessed with our son, Marco. He works in Chicago which is a great location for us to visit – a doable drive or a quick flight from Columbus. Mark and I lived in Pittsburgh, Pa at the start of our marriage. From Pittsburgh, we moved to Rochester, NY for work and school. I earned my master’s degree from SUNY Brockport during our time in Rochester. Ohio called us back home and we have lived in and around Columbus for over 26 years.
When we first moved back to Ohio, we settled in German Village. Our next move was to the suburbs of Columbus, specifically New Albany. It was exciting to see New Albany grow as much as it did in our short three years living there. We decided to move to Bexley when Marco was ready to enter elementary school. We loved our time in Bexley. When Marco graduated from high school and left for Indiana University, we moved downtown to Italian Village. This area is a fun place for empty nesters, and we had many good times going to Columbus Bluejackets hockey games, Columbus Clippers baseball games, eating at great restaurants, and accumulating lots of steps while walking everywhere. Currently, we live in Delaware, Ohio. We like the laid-back atmosphere of a smaller city, with access to the vibrant Main St. area.
I enjoy running and have completed several marathons and countless 5Ks. Our sheepadoodle, Moose, enjoys hanging with me. Aside from being active, I like to bake for friends and family. I think I have been to every bakery around Columbus and could write a book on all the great baked goods we have here. We like to volunteer for our church and St. Charles Preparatory School, and we also volunteer at the Italian Festival, Steps for Sarcoma, and the Abercrombie & Fitch Challenge.
