Over the past twenty-five years I have moved six times for jobs and family and relocated to Cleveland six years ago. I first moved to Cambridge, England while I was still single and before starting law school. Once married, my husband and I moved to Baltimore, Maryland, where he completed his residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital and I worked as a legal financial consultant in an international organization in Washington D.C. A few years later, I moved to New York City, where I did a Master of Law degree at NYU. In 2008 we moved to Nashville, Tennessee where our twin boys where born. After more than a decade living in the south, we decided to relocate our family to Ohio and never looked back. We live in Pepper Pike as we have found it to be a great community and the perfect location for our family. In fact, we liked it so much that we embarked on a very special project: Building our home!

I am originally from Bogota, Colombia. I went to a French immersion school, where my love for languages blossomed. I’m grateful that I can communicate in English, Spanish and French, which has been instrumental in building social connections. Although I had a rewarding life full of social and work opportunities in Colombia, I have now lived in the U.S most of my adult life and I am happy to call Cleveland our home!

With two busy middle schoolers, I have spent a good part of my time facilitating their academic and sports endeavors, while also volunteering at their school. Cleveland has strong roots in community-based institutions. Currently I serve as a Sunbeam board member, an organization which supports Vocational Guidance Services’ work with Ohioans with disabilities. In my free time I enjoy exercising – Pure Barre and Orange Theory are my happy places to disconnect and relax.

For our family, Cleveland features the perfect balance between cultural and sports scenes. We love exhibitions at the Cleveland Art Museum, great Broadways shows at Playhouse Square, classical to modern music concerts at Severance Hall and Blossom, as well as following the Cavaliers and Guardians as they improve every season. Besides all these well-established activities Cleveland has to offer, it never ceases to amaze me that it is a city full of surprises and new places to discover!

Thanks to the good quality of life and the welcoming and friendly community that this city offers, moving to Cleveland has been one of the best decisions of our lives!
