Originally from Dallas, I have had the opportunity to live all over, from Alaska to London, for work and study abroad, before starting a family in Los Angeles in 2004. I took a hiatus from full-time employment in 2012 to raise our daughters as we relocated from California to Florida, then Arkansas for my spouse’s career in corporate sales. With our third move in 5 years, we landed in Cleveland in 2016.
I have treasured the opportunities we have had to embed in various cultures and cities around the world through corporate relocations. We feel fortunate to have landed in Cleveland for the last 10 years, enjoying the culture, climate, lifestyle, access and affordability, and it has been an amazing place to raise our family. Two of our daughters have now graduated and gone on to college in Austin and New Orleans, but we still have a junior in high school at Hathaway Brown.
When I am not volunteering at the school or one of the many non-profit organizations, I like to play mahjong, walk the dog in one of the many green spaces, attend author events, see a show at Playhouse Square or attend a major league sporting event. I am also an avid “paddle” enthusiast, which is played outdoors throughout the winter, and is how I often finish this sentence, “You know you’re a Clevelander when…”.
