East or west, we have great independent bookstores. For our 40th anniversary, I wanted to point out a few of my favorites.
Loganberry Books, Mac’s Backs, Fireside Book Shop, and Appletree Books dot the east side with both used and new book options. In the city, you’ll find Visible Voice Books, Horizontal Books, and The Bookshop in Lakewood. They have titles you won’t see in the bigger stores. These bookstores typically have knowledgeable staff that can guide you into a deeper world of reading. With winter coming on, it’s time to find a few good reads!
Loganberry has a great selection of local history books. I’m known on my tours for having a lot of Cleveland historical information, and many of my resources came from there. They have a perks card, which helps! Loganberry also has its own resident cat – Otis. Sometimes, you have to look up to see him!
Many of these stores have an antique or vintage store in the neighborhood or district, like Heide Rivchun’s Conservation Studios on Larchmere, which has a selection of glass, furniture, antique garden items, and they do furniture restoration. (I’ve been a long time customer.) If you are a collector or need a side table to fill that corner, you are bound to find a quality piece. If you enjoy putting in some elbow grease, there are great finds to be had. Half the fun is exploring! Go out and spend some time with these independent stores that thrive in Cleveland.

The Executive Arrangements team’s favorite part about doing what we do is sharing our deep love of Cleveland with your top job candidates. You already know why our city is so great; it’s our job to help you communicate that to newcomers.
