If you are in Northeast Ohio, you probably know about the Mustard Wars. But, do you know what the debate entails?
According to a National Hot Dog and Sausage Council study, 71% of Americans who eat hot dogs use mustard. In Cleveland, people are passionate about two particular varieties of mustard…
Stadium Mustard
A little on the spicy side…It is the official mustard of FirstEnergy Stadium and is the mustard of choice at about 150 stadiums and arenas throughout the US. It has even been served to astronauts on the Space Shuttle.
Bertman Ballpark Mustard
A little on the sweet side…It is the official mustard of the Cleveland Indians. It was used at the Cleveland Municipal stadium and moved to Progressive Field along with the Indians. It is also served at about 150 stadiums and arenas throughout the US.
So which one is best? Blind taste test results have been inconclusive. You’ll have to try them both yourself. Go see the Browns and try Stadium Mustard. You’ll have to wait to try Bertman at Progressive Field next season. But, don’t worry! Both varieties are available at your local grocery store.
