Gifts that Keep on Giving: Cleveland Heights Holiday Gift Guide

by | Dec 12, 2019 | Dining, Nightlife, Shopping

With the holidays quickly approaching, you might need to find last-minute gifts for friends, family, co-workers, and otherwise. There are so many great pockets of stores in Cleveland, but since our office is located in Cleveland Heights, we wanted to create a hyper-local gift guide and encourage to buy local at independent shops. So we reached out to the City of Cleveland Heights for a little help!

For the book lover

Coventry is a great spot all year round. During the warmer months, it’s nice to sit at one of the many benches and crack open a recent book purchase from Mac’s Backs. With plenty of book and non-book gifting options such as totes and pencil pouches, this shop – which is attached to Tommy’s (grab a milkshake!) – has something for all the people in your life.
If you’re closer to Cedar-Fairmount, there’s Appletree Books. They also offer a wide variety of gifts for everyone on your list and the owner, Lynn Quintrell is a voracious reader and she and her staff make great recommendations. And if they don’t have something in store, you can order books – the same perks of online shopping, but you’re supporting a local business.

For the art enthusiast

In the Cedar/Fairmount district, find a present at Still Point Gallery & Boutique while browsing their art and clothing selections. Is the person in mind in need of a kitchenware refresh? Take a trip to Gleena Ceramics at Cedar-Taylor.
Stop at the Heights Arts Holiday Store for handcrafted treasures. Or give an experience – a night on the town followed by an indie film at Cedar Lee Theatre.

For the self-care expert

Grab a gift from Cleveland Candle, perfect for bubble baths to warm the soul this winter. City Buddha on Coventry offers incense, among other trinkets, for a centered home. And DorNee Natural Body Luxuries provides locally-crafted presents that hydrate even the most stubborn winter-cracked hands.

For the food and wine connoisseur

There are so many wonderful restaurants in Cleveland Heights where you can take the people you love the most: Zoma Ethiopian Restaurant, Pho & Rice, and the brand new Zhug, to name a few. For dessert enthusiasts, head to Mitchell’s Fine Chocolates to create your own personalized box or select one of their classic assortments.
Share the holiday spirit(s) with a gift basket from CLE Urban Winery or The Wine Spot.

For all your other gifting needs

If you’re not quite sure what you’re looking for, Pavilion, Jubilee! Gifts and S’Wonderful Gifts will take care of you. They have everything from apparel to home decor to jewelry for your gift-giving needs.
With so many options in Cleveland Heights within miles of each other, you’ll be able to check everyone off your holiday list!
Thank you to the City of Cleveland Heights and Cedar Lee SID for all your recommendations. Happy holidays, everyone! And happy shopping.
