Born and raised in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, I spent 4 years in Nashville while attending Vanderbilt University. One of my favorite experiences while at Vanderbilt was studying abroad in Innsbruck, Austria. I moved to Cleveland after marrying my native and true midwestern husband, Dave, in 1991. I continued my career in Retail and Mortgage Banking here in Cleveland until we started our family in 1998. We have two children in college and currently enjoy traveling to see them at Clemson University and Denison University. Our daughter plays soccer for Denison, so we spend our fall weekends watching lots of college soccer. We spent five years living in Portland, Oregon and loved every minute exploring the beautiful Northwest Territory of the USA. While there, we realized a new love of hiking as a family and summited over 100 mountains as avid travelers and weekend warriors.
One of the primary reasons we moved back to Dave’s hometown of Bay Village was to enjoy all that Lake Erie has to offer. We are boaters, yet my favorite mode of water transportation is a stand up paddle board (SUP). We boat to Kelly’s Island frequently, and truly appreciate a water-front lifestyle for much of the year.
Much of our vacation time, although not in the summer, is spent hiking and snow skiing. It is our personal mission to visit every National Park; so far we have checked off 20 of 60 parks. When I’m not on the water, sitting on bleachers, or scaling the side of a mountain, my favorite weekly pastime is yoga. I have learned to appreciate the practice and its benefits for my mind, body, and heart.
Locally, I am involved with serving the needs of the local homeless population through the Community Service Alliance. Additionally, I volunteer with Building Hope in the City, attempting to love and bring hope to the underserved residents in Cleveland’s Clark-Fulton Neighborhood through the work of the Nehemiah Collaborative. My love of soccer and service has also given me the great privilege of being a global board member of the international soccer ministry of Ambassadors Football. Our family attends Bay Presbyterian Church where I am a Mentor Mom for the MOMSnext Ministry; and I also attend King’s Church in Lakewood.
Although born and raised a “Southern Girl” and still steeped in many traditions (you know the saying, “ you can take the girl out of the South but you can’t take the South out of the girl”) I have become a proud Clevelander and have loved raising our family in the Midwest. This pride makes working for EA a perfect fit for me. I Believe in CLE.
