Caroline Weingart
Guide

I grew up in Rocky River on the west side of Cleveland and loved living near Lake Erie. I attended Middlebury College in Vermont and spent various summers on the East Coast.  I returned to Cleveland for law school at Case Western Reserve University. My husband, Lee Weingart, grew up in Cleveland Heights. We fell in love with the Shaker Heights’ historic homes and decided to raise our three children here. They all graduated from Shaker Heights High School and were involved in school sports and activities including field hockey, figure skating, lacrosse, baseball, ice hockey, marching band and travel to Turkey and Spain.

I stopped practicing law to raise my kids and become active in PTO, serving as Co-President of Onaway Elementary, Woodbury Elementary and the High School. I also volunteered at numerous events and in the classroom, mostly with reading. Today I regularly volunteer with my Samoyed therapy dog at Shaker Heights Library, Ronald McDonald House, and area hospitals.

As empty nesters, Lee and I have more time to visit independent restaurants with friends and family and to see shows at Playhouse Square and Karamu House. We love live music, especially the bigger shows in town like U2, Taylor Swift, (with our daughter) and Machine Gun Kelly. We also love to travel and visit our kids in their current towns, NYC and London, whenever we get the chance.

I recently started a nut-free bakery, “Lizzie’s Bakery”, in honor of my Mom, and to help people like my daughter, who have peanut and tree-nut allergies. Consequently, 2022 has been full of farmers markets, custom orders, and pop-up markets.

I have always loved reading, and was excited to start the EA Book Club in 2019, bringing local book lovers and new Cleveland residents together.
